Sir:-
I am directed by the Marquess of Salisbury to
transmit to you a copy of a telegram from the Chinese
Government, which has been communicated to him by
the Chinese Minister, relative to postal arrangements
at Hankow.
I am to request that Her Majesty's Secretary
of State for the Colonies will be so good as to in-
form Lord Salisbury whether
a branch of the Hong-
kong Post Office still exists at Hankow.
